A bird next to window would not have been subject of any blog piece in India or many other places, but Riyadh then is different you rarely see anything except cats here but last week was different, saw a bird flying across our 23rd Floor office. A solitary small black bird and by the time we realized what we saw, it had disappeared. Guess the bird wanted to tell us, yes am not out due to extreme heat, but i do exist. A day later in one of the hypermart saw two caged feathered species. Not a great way to keep animals, but then many would not survive the extreme's outside.
Its been over 20 days that am writing this , inspite of being out of about 5 days. Have been really busy and just in no shape to be able to take time out to gather my thoughts. Not that things have changed, except weather, which is getting cooler during nights.
Sunset that used to be visible from my room in last trip is still visible from my current room and on a clear day like yesterday the view is spell bounding. I just kept looking at the horizon, till the last of views of sun was visible. The hues and changes to it kept me hooked to it and it was brighter than other days....probably because there was no dust in air.
In these days have seen so many new places and areas. Tried so may different foods that can now write a food blog on Indian food in Riyadh. Not that I am too much persistent on Indian meals, but some folks around me are less adventurous.
Another thing I have realized is the amount of bargaining you can do in streets of Riyadh. This is no different from by-lanes of Chandni Chowk where the best of the shops bargain...may be like there, bargaining is a favorite pass-time here as well and not just in shops, it starts with Taxi's as well. You can never know if you paid the right amount.
